Woman found in Yorba Linda was stabbed to death, suspect identified
A woman whose body was found sprawled on a sidewalk in an upscale Yorba Linda neighborhood was stabbed to death, mostly likely near the spot where she was discovered, authorities said Wednesday.
A 35-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been identified as Larry Soo Shin, a Yorba Linda resident, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.
The woman’s body was discovered Tuesday by several bicyclists about 5:40 a.m. near Deodar Drive and Live Oak Lane in Yorba Linda. The victim has not been identified.
Based on preliminary information and evidence from the scene, it appears the slaying occurred at or near where the body was found.
The woman died as a result of multiple stab wounds to her upper body, according to an autopsy performed Wednesday.
Investigators said they are still trying to determine the relationship between Shin and the victim.
