15-year-old gunned down on Carson street
Detectives are searching for gunmen who killed a 15-year-old boy as he was walking on a street in Carson Saturday afternoon, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Mike Barraza said the boy was with a female companion near Sepulveda and Avalon Boulevards around 4:35 p.m. when a white or silver 4-door vehicle pulled up.
Two males in hoodies emerged from the car and fired repeatedly at the boy, who died at the scene, Barraza said. His companion was unhurt.
The gunmen jumped back in the car and fled eastbound on Sepulveda, Barraza said.
It was unclear whether the shooting was gang-related, but “it appears that the victim was specifically targeted by the suspects,” the deputy said.
