CALIFORNIA BRIEFING / SANTA CLARITA
A woman walked into a Los Angeles County sheriff’s station late Monday, briefly spoke to two deputies and shot herself to death, authorities said.
The incident occurred between 9:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., when the woman walked into the sheriff’s station in Santa Clarita, according to sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore. He said a female deputy first spoke to the woman, who said she didn’t want to talk to her. Then a male deputy came out, spoke to the woman and became “concerned about her behavior,” Whitmore said. After he left the lobby, he heard a gunshot. No other details were immediately available.
