Man Held in String of Crashes; 1 Killed
A Palmdale man driving a 28-foot motor home was arrested Saturday in connection with four crashes in 20 minutes, leaving one woman dead and four teenagers injured -- one critically.
Christopher Hall, 41, was booked on suspicion of attempted murder after leaving the scene of a fatal accident at 47th Street and Avenue R. He was also suspected of being under the influence of drugs and alcohol, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Vince Carter.
About 4 p.m., Hall’s motor home allegedly collided with a vehicle, causing the driver to lose control and crash into a telephone pole, killing the motorist, Carter said.
The victim’s name was being withheld pending notification of relatives, Carter said.
Before that crash, Hall’s motor home allegedly struck another vehicle, Carter said.
With deputies in pursuit, Hall’s motor home struck a car at 50th Street and Palmdale Boulevard, injuring four teenagers. Hall’s vehicle then skidded into another car driven by two adults, but neither was injured.
