Hit-Run Driver Strikes Pregnant Woman
A pregnant woman was in fair condition Wednesday after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Nyeland Acres, authorities said.
Angelina Martinez, 23, who is about three months’ pregnant, had taken her child to a day-care center on Nyeland Avenue Wednesday morning. Her husband, Marcelo Martinez, said a gray, four-door sedan struck Angelina, throwing her 15 feet, the California Highway Patrol said.
She suffered a head injury and abrasions. Officials would not comment on the condition of the fetus. The CHP is asking anyone with information to call 477-4160.
