Recognizing a Hero

My fondest wish is that David Rosenthal (“The Loneliness of the Long-Distance Ranter,” by Janet Reitman, May 5) read “Razing Appalachia” (by Peter Slavin, May 5) and sent Judy Bonds of Coal River Mountain Watch one of his $52,000 grants. If what this woman is doing to save West Virginia and a traditional way of life from destruction isn’t “art,” it sure should be.
