Sentencing Set for 17-Year-Old Twins Who Admitted Molesting Children
Twin 17-year-old Tustin boys who admitted this week to molesting at least two children and possessing obscene materials face potential eight-year terms when they are sentenced next month, authorities said Tuesday.
On Monday, each brother admitted to committing lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14 years of age and possessing pornographic material, Orange County Deputy Dist. Atty. Cynthia Herrera said. They also admitted to two counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child, she said.
The boys, who were 16 years old when they were arrested by Tustin police in May, will be sentenced in Juvenile Court on Dec. 5. Because they are juveniles, neither their names nor details of the crimes were disclosed.
Most juveniles sentenced to the California Youth Authority are released when they turn 21 years of age. In some cases, however, they can be held until age 25, Herrera said.
