The Planning Commission today will decide whether to approve new signs at Trader Joe’s Market and Mission Lutheran Church.
The grocery store is requesting the city allow it to install three signs around its store in the Ocean Ranch II shopping center on the Street of the Golden Lantern, according to a city report.
The signs, which will feature illuminated letters ranging from 20 to 30 inches, comply with city codes and state environmental standards, the report said.
Mission Lutheran Church is asking the city for permission to place a changeable marquee outside of the church on the corner of La Paz and Yosemite roads.
The church is also asking the city to approve its plans to set up two monuments identifying the church in front of the building, along La Paz Road, according to the report.
City planners are recommending the commission approve the signs to help people driving along La Paz Road find the church.
The Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. at City Council chambers, 27841 La Paz Road.
