Kenneth Starr
It seems fascinating to me that Kenneth Starr is testifying against the renewal of the independent counsel law (April 14-15). Since it was his behavior in that position that has been the major factor in public sentiment against renewal, isn’t he saying that they should not have appointed him to that post?

The only reason Starr said that investigations like his are unconstitutional and should be made illegal is to protect the next Republican president.

It turns out even Starr doesn’t think he should have been allowed to do what he did.

Bill Press (Commentary, April 15) has conveniently forgotten that most of the delay and additional cost of the Starr investigation are the direct result of the lying, stonewalling, document hiding, witness tampering, prosecutor smearing and obstruction of justice practiced by Bill Clinton and his rat pack at the White House.
If Clinton et al. had been cooperative and forthright, this would have been over years ago. If Clinton was innocent, he would have been forthright. Let’s put the blame where it belongs.
