Man Killed by Hit-Run Driver Outside Bar
STUDIO CITY — A 24-year-old North Hollywood man was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Studio City early Wednesday, according to police.
The accident happened about 2 a.m. when Trent Illig left the Apache Bar at 11608 Ventura Blvd. He was struck as he was opening the door of his car, which was parked in front of the bar, said LAPD Officer Jason Hough. Illig was thrown 30 feet and died at the scene. Witnesses said the driver fled eastbound in a late-model blue Ford F-150.
