The Parks and Recreation Commission on Monday decided that speeding up field improvements at George White Elementary School is its top priority for a share of the city’s annual allotment of capital improvement money. “It meets an immediate need,” said commission Chairman Carson Lev. “We all felt it was very important to move that through, or at least get the planning through.”

Installation of field lights at Moulton Elementary School and the construction of a combination Teen Center and modular classroom building at a yet-to-be determined location followed as the commission’s second and third priorities. The suggestions will be passed on to the City Council for consideration in its budget review in late spring, officials said.
