Haas Moves Up in Investigation Bureau
Senior Investigator Richard C. Haas has been promoted to the second highest office in the district attorney’s Bureau of Investigation, Ventura County Dist. Atty. Michael D. Bradbury announced Tuesday.
Haas, a supervisor for the bureau’s major-crimes and trial-preparation unit, will become deputy chief investigator.
He will oversee investigations in the major-crimes, gang, juvenile, misdemeanor, sexual-assault and family-protection units. Haas will also help formulate bureau policies, officials said.
Haas, a 13-year veteran of the Ventura Police Department, was appointed to the Bureau of Investigation in 1980. In 1989 he was promoted to senior investigator, overseeing the major-crimes unit.
Senior Investigator Davie Stone, who formerly ran the bureau’s welfare-fraud unit, will now oversee the major-crimes unit, officials said.
