Three cheers for L.A. Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski for exercising common sense in “challenging a council colleague” (editorial, March 30). It makes absolutely no sense to lose decent houses that could be used for the homeless; and to have public property donated to private schools like Marymount College and Rolling Hills Preparatory School is not only illegal but outrageous.

Shame on Councilman Rudy Svorinich and his handpicked committee! They should immediately reverse their unwise decision.
