SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO
The City Council will hold a public hearing tonight on the city’s Community Development Block Grant application. Officials are proposing to request $500,000 from the state for housing rehabilitation and a child-care program for three of the city’s poorest areas: Rancho Alipaz, which has a 21% poverty rate, and Villa San Juan and Capistrano Valley Mobile Estates, which have a combined 9% poverty rate.
