Workshop on Prayer
A workshop in centering prayer will be held at Faith Episcopal Church in Laguna Niguel from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
This form of prayer allows individuals to relate to God in silence, based on a tradition of contemplative prayer in the Christian church. Originating in the third century, the ancient prayer was practiced only in monasteries until the 1970s, said organizer Kay Lindahl.
The workshop will include background instruction in the prayer, followed by two prayer experiences and opportunities for questions.
The $15 suggested donation also covers beverages, but participants are encouraged to bring a bag lunch. The church is at 30121 Niguel Road.
