Councilwoman to Serve on LAFCO
Westminster Councilwoman Margie L. Rice has been appointed to the seven-member Board of Directors of the Local Agency Formation Commission, which oversees annexations and incorporation in Orange County.
Commonly known as LAFCO, the state-mandated agency deals with boundary issues, reviewing annexation requests and deciding which communities should form their own cities.
The commission also encourages and promotes the consolidation of special districts, including water and sanitation.
Rice, 65, also is a member of the Midway City Sanitary District, which serves Westminster.
