Remembering ’97 Caltrans Tragedy
* It is now a year since the terrible tragedy at the Caltrans yard in Orange (Dec. 19).
We still tolerate 30-, 50- and 100-round magazines. All of our Orange County state legislators in 1998 voted against limiting the number of rounds in a magazine, and our governor vetoed the bill.
In obtaining a hunting license, you are limited to five rounds. We protect hunted animals in our state better than we protect our loved ones. Others may celebrate holiday joy, but I know the victims’ families and their friends will carry their grief forever.
