4,100 Lose Electricity for Half an Hour
About 4,100 customers in Thousand Oaks lost electrical power for more than half an hour Sunday afternoon when an underground electrical cable failed, officials said.
Service was restored to all but 100 of those customers by 2:56 p.m., said Gil Alexander, a spokesman with Southern California Edison.
The remaining customers--in an area roughly bounded by Olsen Road to the north, Erbes Road to the east, Galsworthy Street to the south and Lynn Road to the west--weren’t expected to see power restored for some hours. Crews were trying to determine the nature of the cable failure.
