Just as it has done since June 1997 with the southerly blimp hangar at the Tustin Marine Corps Air Facility, the city will lease additional Marine Corps buildings in order to sublease them to another entity, the City Council decided Monday.

The city will sublease two buildings to the Orange County Rescue Mission for 12 months, with four additional 12-month options. Neither the lease nor sublease of the 5.8-acre site will cost the city or the Rescue Mission, which, as noted in the city’s base reuse plan, will become an intricate part of the plan’s Learning Village.
