MISSION VIEJO
The City Council approved $298,794 this week for construction of a “Cattery Pavilion” at the Animal Services Center. The pavilion will house about 100 cats that the center is struggling to house now with the help of 37 foster families and a rented 28-foot trailer.
The pavilion will include a laundry, a food preparation area, a reception desk and two viewing rooms for families looking to adopt. The center is seeking private donations to offset city costs. The city of Laguna Niguel is also covering more than $100,000 of the construction costs. Information: (949) 470-3000.
