Teen Burn Patient Leaves Hospital
A Santa Clarita teenager injured while experimenting with a tennis ball “cannon” at William S. Hart High School was released Sunday from the hospital, a spokesman said.
Nolan LeMar, 17, of Castaic, was admitted to the Grossman Burn Center at Sherman Oaks Hospital the day before Thanksgiving with second-degree burns over 12% of his body, after a mishap during a physics experiment.
“The prospect for Nolan of a complete recovery is good,” said hospital spokesman Larry Weinberg. “He’s had skin grafts. Doctors will watch that. He may need further grafts, but the prospect for his complete recovery is very good. He was a very lucky young man.”
A classmate, Christopher James, remained at the burn center in critical but stable condition, Weinberg said.
