In its search for the city’s “Father of the Year,” the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominating essays through 5 p.m. Friday.

Essays must be 100 words or less, by any individual who has benefited from the nominee’s parenting skills. Essays will be judged solely on content, not form, grammar or spelling. Although the nominations may include reports of good deeds or heroism, details of the person’s characteristics as a father will be given the most weight.

Essays must be accompanied by an official nomination form, available at the Chamber of Commerce, 2100 Main St., Suite 200.
