Gallegly Should Ask Wilson for Bailout
* Re: Elton Gallegly’s, Column Right, “Don’t Apply a Band-Aid.”
President Clinton applied the Band-Aid, but Gov. Pete Wilson and the state’s “pet” industries created the open wound.
I assume that Gallegly must know the governor’s record of pushing for legislation that opened the borders to immigrants, urging immigration authorities to stop raids on California companies and easing the entry of foreign farm workers to ensure a steady supply of cheap labor for California’s agribusiness.
So, if Gallegly believes there’s a health-care crisis due to an influx of immigrants, then he should look to the governor and special-interest industries, instead of the federal government, for a bailout.
