Burlington Air Express Profits Up

Burlington Air Express, an Irvine-based subsidiary of Pittston Co., reported third-quarter operating profit of $22.2 million, 47% higher than the $15.1 million recorded for the same quarter in 1993. Revenue increased 22% to $311.9 million from $254.8 million. Year-to-date operating profit more than doubled to $52 million from $24.6 million for the comparable period of 1993. Nine-month revenue rose 21% to $875.7 million from $726 million.
