Hilton 3rd-Quarter Profit Up 32%: The Beverly Hills-based company said better results from its hotels offset lower casino earnings. Hilton Hotels Corp. said it earned $27 million, or 56 cents per share, during the July-September quarter, compared to $20.5 million, 43 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Revenue rose 10%, from $346.7 million to $380.9 million. The hotels benefited from a rebounding economy and improved business and leisure travel trends, Hilton said. Declines at Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nev., hotel-casinos were partially offset by income from Hilton’s New Orleans riverboat casino; its casino in Windsor, Canada, and its Gold Coast, Australia, hotel-casino.
