Wilson Fills PUC Vacancy: Jessie Knight, executive vice president of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, was appointed by Gov. Pete Wilson to the California Public Utilities Commission, filling a vacancy that has existed for more than a year. Knight, who is expected to take the post next month, joins the PUC as several major decisions are pending on telephone services. Before being tapped by the chamber to develop and retain business in San Francisco, he was a spokesman for the San Francisco Newspaper which publishes the San Francisco Chronicle and Examiner.
