South Gate : 21-Member Citizens Panel to Advise on Redevelopment
A 21-member citizens committee is being formed to advise the City Council on revitalizing business districts along Firestone and Long Beach boulevards and Atlantic Avenue.
The redevelopment project would provide funds for improving business properties and for programs to retain and attract businesses.
A meeting for South Gate residents interested in serving on the committee will be at 7 tonight in the council chamber at City Hall, 8650 California Ave. The panel will be named in December. Formation of the project is expected to take nine months.
