Man, 78, Killed in Anaheim Crash
ANAHEIM — A 78-year-old man was killed Thursday afternoon in a two-car crash at the intersection of La Palma Avenue and Romneya Drive.
Frederic Clauson of Anaheim died at UCI Medical Center in Orange at 2:36 p.m., about one hour after the accident, Anaheim Police Sgt. Harold Parkison said.
Clauson’s wife, Louise, 76, turned left in front of a westbound car, which struck her passenger door. The impact caused Clauson’s car to careen north onto Romneya Drive where it struck a curb, swerved back into the street and struck a tree in the center divider, Parkison said.
Louise Clauson suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to UCI Medical Center. The other drive had minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.
