MOTIVATED: President Bush’s proposal for a 5% cut in the pay of federal workers who make more than $75,000 a year outraged at least one small group of voters: the federal execs themselves. . . . At the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, government lawyers even studied whether such a pay cut would be legal. “What did you decide?” an NRC executive asked. “I decided who I’m going to vote for,” one lawyer replied.
