Ventura County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for setting fire to the Heroes and Legends comic-book store in Thousand Oaks and defacing the building with anti-Semitic graffiti.

The Thousand Oaks Boulevard store was set ablaze last week, triggering a fire that caused nearly $300,000 in damage to the store and three adjoining businesses.

Sheriff’s investigators called the incident the latest in a series of hate crimes. Another Conejo Valley building was defaced in a similar manner about three months ago.
