Hartmarx to Sell 180-Store Subsidiary: Hartmarx Corp. is selling its specialty stores for $43 million to HSSA Group Ltd., a company formed to make the acquisition. Hartmarx said it expects the sale and other restructuring actions to result in an after-tax charge against earnings of up to $200 million that will be reflected in the results of its third quarter, which ended Aug. 31. The note is payable in two years and subject to adjustment when inventories for Hartmarx’s 180-store subsidiary are determined, Hartmarx said. The subsidiary, which primarily sells men’s clothing, is called Hartmarx Specialty Stores Inc.
