Analyst Review: “Banks are such a cyclical industry and are subject to economic and geographic factors. But, I think given the environment in which Eldorado Bank has been operating, it is in very good shape. For instance its non-performing assets--bad loans and foreclosed property--are below the California average; you want you’re non-performing assets to be as low as possible. In terms of earnings, Eldorado had a very health second quarter; they have a good steady earnings stream. We have an S&L; safety rating scale where we look at things such as riskiness of the loan portfolio, capital adequacy, asset quality, earnings history and the company’s market value. An “A-” means there is no risk, and a “B” means there is a little risk. On our S&L; safety scale, Eldorado has a B+ rating.
