CORONADO : Teens Caught After Chase on Bridge
Coronado Police chased and caught a group of seven teen-agers in an allegedly stolen car, which swerved out of control and came to a stop after hitting a guard rail on the Coronado Bridge on Saturday night, officials said Sunday.
At 11:20 p.m., Coronado police began pursuing the teens after spotting the car that had been reported as stolen.
The driver lost control while attempting to take the Interstate 5 off-ramp and the car struck a guard rail. The four male occupants were arrested for theft of the car and an associated robbery in San Diego last week and were taken to Juvenile Hall. The female occupants were released without charges and treated for cuts at local hospitals.
Police said the speed of the chase reached no more than 60 m.p.h.
