Man Stabbed to Death; 2 Arrested
Two Van Nuys men were arrested in connection with the stabbing death of an unidentified man found lying in a street near the Sepulveda Basin, Los Angeles police said Sunday.
Sylvester Williams, 29, of Van Nuys was being held without bail on suspicion of murder, and Forris Elliott, 40, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after the 3:10 p.m. Saturday stabbing, Sgt. Charles Laird said.
Police found the victim near the corner of Kester Avenue and Friar Street in Van Nuys. He had been stabbed in the upper torso, Laird said.
Laird said he did not know why the man was killed or what evidence connected Williams and Elliott with the slaying.
