Converting to Metric System
As a former Canadian resident, where the government forced the metric system in the late ‘70s, let me warn you, fellow Americans, that it doesn’t just involve changing a few road signs from miles to kilometers. This will affect every aspect of your life.
Temperatures will be in Celsius; gas, oil, milk and every liquid item will be sold and packaged in liters; meat, fruit and all bulk items will be weighed in grams and kilograms; carpet, housing and office space will be measured per square meter. All businesses must switch their scales and packaging to metric.
All gas pumps must be changed. This would be a golden opportunity for the oil companies to raise prices. After all, 2 cents per liter doesn’t sound like much but, in actual fact, it amounts to 9 cents per gallon.
The cost to government and business is in the millions and the result is total confusion for a country thinking in feet and gallons.
Don’t let this happen to our country.
