Low Interest Rates
The Column Right (Aug. 27) by Richard Vigilante, lauding President Bush’s achievement in bringing down mortgage interest rates, overlooks one important fact. This was done at the expense of the millions of retired people who thought they could live on their interest income, only to see that income reduced to about one-third of what it was two years ago. Does Mr. Bush want to brag about that?
