Richard E. Yochum has been appointed executive vice president/chief operating officer of Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center.
Yochum, who has been vice president for administration since 1979, will succeed Robert W. Burwell, who will retire in June, 1993.
Yochum is a past president of the Pomona Chamber of Commerce and past chairman of the board of the Pomona chapter of the American Red Cross. He serves on the boards of Inter Valley Health Plan, McKinley Home for Boys and Mt. Baldy region of United Way.
A graduate of Loyola University in Los Angeles, he earned his master’s degree in health administration at Cornell University.
The 450-bed medical center, founded in 1903, has more than 2,000 employees.
