KING CASE AFTERMATH: READERS RESPOND : Justice Was Served at Trial
Yes, I’m outraged. Outraged at our political and civic leaders, from the president on down, for implying that justice was not served in Simi Valley.
All of their statements seem to say that something went terribly wrong at that trial.
Do they believe the trial was fixed? The jury selection process was tampered with? The court conspired to seat 12 white racists? The prosecutor was not given an equal opportunity in the jury selection process? The witnesses perjured themselves on the stand? If any one of these things happened and we couldn’t recognize it for what it was, then we do have a serious problem.
My family and I have lived in Simi Valley for 20 years and have associated with and come to know many families plus hundreds of individuals of varied racial and ethnic backgrounds.
If this community is indeed a white racist enclave, then my family and I have been living here with our eyes and ears closed; we are Americans of Japanese ancestry.
