PLACENTIA : District Forming Advisory Group
The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District is forming an advisory committee to address issues the district is expected to face as the needs of the community change in coming years.
The committee will be charged with examining issues such as school attendance boundaries, educational programs, school capacities and equal opportunity education.
District officials are collecting names of those interested in serving on the committee.
Officials hope to have the committee’s members chosen by April 28, for presentation to the trustees along with a proposed mission statement.
Supt. James Fleming will appoint committee members from a list of nominees including parents, administrators and representatives of the California School Employees Assn.
Those interested in participating are asked to submit a letter to the superintendent at the district headquarters, 1301 E. Orangethorpe Ave., Placentia, CA. 92670.
The committee is expected to meet on a weekly basis for several months.
