SANTA PAULA : High School District Lays Off 4 Teachers
The Santa Paula Union High School District laid off four teachers and reduced the hours of another for the 1991-92 school year because of a projected decline in state education funds.
The school board formalized the layoffs Wednesday at a special board meeting to give the teachers time to look for other jobs, officials said.
The four full-time teachers who were laid off will continue to work at Santa Paula High School until the end of the school year, district officials said. The fifth will lose one class next year.
