1 1/2-Hour Power Outage Occurs After Pole Hit
About 800 homes and businesses in Northridge were without electricity for about 90 minutes Wednesday night after a car knocked over a power pole, authorities said.
Department of Water and Power spokeswoman Lucia Alvelais said electricity failed about 9 p.m. when a car hit the pole near Balboa Boulevard and Rayen Street. The pole fell on a nearby house, but no one was injured.
Police had no information about possible injuries or the cause of the accident.
