REAL ESTATE : Right Side of Tracks? Developer Draws Line at San Diego Freeway
Scene from the class struggle in Orange County:
Used to be that the Costa Mesa Freeway was the county’s unofficial Mason-Dixon Line. South of it was the new, upscale, executive Orange County. To the north was middle- class, blue-collar Orange County.
Now there appears to be a second line forming--along the San Diego Freeway.
In a new slogan, obviously intended to be read two ways, the Laguna Audubon development trumpets that it is on the correct side of the tracks, declaring:
“It is really cool to live on the Pacific side of the Interstate 5.”
