Local News in Brief : Armored Car Robbery Getaway Vehicle Found
A white Ford Taurus station wagon believed used as the getaway vehicle in an armored car robbery Saturday night in Universal City was found abandoned Sunday morning, authorities said.
Witnesses told investigators that two armed men fled in the car after robbing an armored car guard of moneybags containing $116,000 in the lobby of the Cineplex Odeon movie theater.
The car, which was found a short distance away from the theater, was reported stolen in the West Los Angeles area.
