Local News in Brief : 4 Held After Deputy Foils Moorpark Theft
Two men and two women were in jail Sunday after a botched theft at a Moorpark convenience store Saturday night, authorities said.
A passing Ventura County sheriff’s deputy watched their car back into a utility pole as they left the Circle K convenience store on West Los Angeles Avenue and chased them. The four were arrested in a residential area about 5 blocks away.
Taken into custody were Timothy Donis, 32, and William Thomas Gumfory, 32, both of Sun Valley, and Patricia Dellecese, 33, and Charlene Dellecese, 29, both of Sylmar. Witnesses told police that three of the four suspects distracted clerks while the fourth went into a back office and apparently took almost $1,000, Sgt. Larry Todd said. The three returned to their waiting car and the fourth dashed out after them, Todd said.
Donis and Gumfory also were wanted on outstanding felony warrants, including one resulting from a burglary in Kern County.
