Los Angeles’ weather this weekend will be “a little on the cool side, but it’s looking pretty good,” a forecaster said.

The mercury will only reach the low to mid-60s throughout the Los Angeles Basin today, and some inland areas such as San Bernardino may be a few degrees cooler.

Winds between 15 and 25 m.p.h. will sweep across the Los Angeles Basin, and inland areas will get breezes between 20 and 30 m.p.h., said Dave Beusterien, a meteorologist with WeatherData Inc., which provides forecasts for The Times.

Desert areas will also have 20-30 m.p.h. winds, with gusts up to 40 m.p.h.

Overnight lows in the basin will be in the low to mid-40s, and inland valleys will be even cooler with lows in the mid 30s to the low 40s.

“Winds should be high enough to keep frost from developing, but light frost is possible Friday night in those deep, protected valleys east of San Diego,” Beusterien said.

Saturday will be a little warmer, with high temperatures ranging from the low 60s to the low 70s.

“There will be a little bit more haze, but it should be pretty nice,” Beusterien said. “Sunday will warm up a little more.”
