20 Acres Donated for Open Space
The Palos Verdes Land Conservancy, a nonprofit organization formed by Peninsula residents to acquire and preserve open space, has announced the donation of 20 canyon acres near Hesse Park in Rancho Palos Verdes for use as open space. The donor is the Zuckerman family, which has substantial holdings on the Peninsula.
Conservancy President William Ailor, a Rolling Hills Estates planning commissioner, said the family called the property “difficult to develop” and said its best use is as open space.
Ailor said the Zuckermans will receive a tax credit based on the appraised value of the land, which will be determined after it is officially accepted by the conservancy next year.
