A 31-year-old woman was being held in the County Jail at Los Colinas on Thursday in connection with the slaying of her boyfriend in the East San Diego apartment they shared.
Police found Luther Swayzer, 33, lying unconscious on the balcony of the apartment in the 200 block of North 50th Street. He had been shot in the chest. He was taken to Mercy Hospital, where he died.
Bertha Lee Gibson, 31, was arrested at the scene and is being held on suspicion of murder.
