Local News in Brief : Orange : Deputies Search for Prisoner Who Escaped
Orange County sheriff’s deputies were searching Thursday for a prisoner who escaped from an Orange County Jail inmate crew working near Katella Avenue, officials said.
The missing inmate was identified as Derrick Lenard Campbell, 32, who was serving a sentence for possession of narcotics and for being under the influence of narcotics, Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Richard J. Olson said. He escaped sometime Wednesday, Olson said.
“He is not considered to be a danger,” Olson said.
Campbell was described as black, 5 feet, 7 inches tall with black hair and brown eyes.
