Experts found no evidence of elephant abuse at the San Francisco Zoo, but criticized the lack of training and supervision of the animals’ keepers. A three-member team of experts said they found no evidence that Tinkerbelle, an elephant that knocked down a veterinary technician treating her for a cheek abscess, was retaliating for prior abuse. They said the technician, who has recovered, should not have touched the sensitive abscess.
