San Diego
A 19-year-old woman died Sunday after she jumped from the Coronado Bridge, police said.
The body of Claudia (Simone) Weiss was pulled from San Diego Bay by a Coast Guard patrol boat after the 6 p.m. incident.
Police said a vehicle that is believed to have belonged to the woman was found parked about midway across the bridge.
Weiss was a resident of Chula Vista and a student at Kelsey-Jenney Business College in San Diego, according to a spokesman for the county coroner’s office. The cause of death was listed as drowning, the spokesman said.
